This site is a sample of GeoServer's
capabilities. We are serving up the full TIGER census dataset,
along with GNIS place names and VMAP0 country polygons through the WMS standard. All data is
stored in PostGIS, with caching by
GeoWebCache and front-end GUI
with OpenLayers. The search functionality
is provided by GeoServer's WFS. All data is licensed under a creative commons license by The Open Planning Project.
The site is optimized for firefox, but works on IE as well (though version 7+ preferred).
Everything is open - data, source code, and standards used, and we've written a tutorial on how we made the site. For more information see the FAQ.
